Hey! We're thrilled to announce that we've been able to launch several fantastic programs in Oupad, one of Knysna's poorer neighborhoods. You can read about them below. We're so grateful that God has opened these doors and added such wonderful people to the team. It shows us that this isn't just our work, but God's!
Our programs
E-pap
Twice a week, we give E-Pap to preschoolers. It's a delicious porridge packed with vitamins and minerals that helps boost their immune system. When they feel good and have a full stomach, they can tackle a lot of things!
Soup kitchen
We helpen twee soupkitchens in onze wijk, waar locals paar keer per week maaltijden bereiden voor de buurt. Wij regelen de inkoop van eten, gasflessen en vervoer. Elke week komen zo'n 300 mensen langs voor een warme maaltijd.
JAM Kids Club
Elke week hebben we de JAM Kids Club in Oupad voor kids van 8-15 jaar. We doen leuke zoals dansen, aanbidding en leren over God. Ongeveer 40 kinderen komen langs, en ze krijgenjes om te sparen voor een shop die we 3 maanden houden, waar ze schoolspullen en speelgoed kunnen scoren. Zo leren ze sparen en wat geld waard is!
Outreach
Our team is often in the Oupad neighborhood for outreach. We talk with people, hear their stories and needs, and pray together. This way, we've built a strong relationship and can share the gospel with them. It's wonderful to experience God's love, and everyone wants to feel seen and loved!
Houses
We build homes for people living in poor and unsafe conditions. A new and safe home gives them hope for the future and helps them feel better, because everyone just wants a nice place to call home.
Discipleship trainings/Bible studies
Every week we give Bible studies to the prison staff in Knysna and wait for the inmates' permission. It's nice to help them discover themselves, and the prison officers change, which improves the atmosphere!
Mission trips
We've already traveled to Kenya, Zambia, and Botswana and want to do more to spread Jesus' message. Every year, we also travel to South Africa to work with a local team.
Impact
Our impact is tangible and meaningful, not only in the community and the environment, but also in our faith. We strive for positive change and believe that our commitment to and social responsibility will bring us closer to a better future for everyone. Guided by our faith, we make an undeniable difference.
